Losing is Great Gain

Losing the weight clicked for me when I could follow at work, at home , and on my phone. That is a quote from the weight watchers commercial. Jennifer Hudson sings praises to the company for her transformation. The song bird loudly proclaims "It's a new day, a new way, a new me, and I'm feeling good". Jennifer is on to something can you see it my fellow believers? I lost the weight when it clicked for me. That one great day when I no longer wanted to live in the state I was in ( just like Jennifer). I signed up for the change by making the call. . I begin to follow the plan, write down what I was taking in on a daily basic and was accountable to my weekly meetings.....bible study and Sunday worship . It clicked for me when I could follow this way of life at home, on my job, and with bible apps on my phone. All of a sudden I was losing the weight and gaining a new way of life. The abundant life, joy unspeakable. I'm also singing the praises to the one who held me close during my transformation ~His name is Jesus He watches my weight. He tells me: therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith. let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. Heb. 12:1 NLT
"IT'S A NEW DAY, A NEW WAY, A NEW ME, and I'M FEELING GOOD!

Why Do I Believe

As I leaned into the camera. I began to reflect on just how much Jesus had done for me. I wanted to stay composed, but the joy of the Lord began to fill my thoughts and come pouring out of my mouth with heart-felt expression. I recall the woman at the well. Not, only was it my very first sermon, I mimicked the Samaritan woman's life. But one great day, like the Samaritan woman, I put my faith in Jesus who knew all my faults yet loved me and respected me.

True Worship

God no longer requires his people to worship him from just one location-the temple. Instead God looks for worshipers whose hearts are oriented toward him, whether or not they are physically in Jerusalem. -St. John 4:23-24

Hold to God's Unchanging Hand

The Christian knows no change with regard to God. He may be rich today and poor tomorrow; he may be sickly today and well tomorrow; he may be happy today and distressed tomorrow; but there is no change with his relationship to God. -FLD Ministries.

God Still Answers Prayer

By Irwin "Butch" Staten
Paul says that we should "devote" ourselves to prayer and be "alert" in prayer.
When you feel tired in of praying, know that God is present, always listening, always answering. Maybe He does not always answer in ways you hoped. But He does answer. And He answers according to His own ways because He knows best.
So let us devote ourselves to prayer with an alert mind and be a thankful heart. Pray for us too that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That's why I am here in chains. Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should. Colossians 4:2-4

Love the Only Way

By Irwin "Butch" Staten
One basic principle Jesus taught us is, “Love your enemies.” That principle is sure to make the short list. It is something we are supposed to do if we are going to follow Christ. And perhaps most of us feel as though we keep that commandment. But sometimes I can’t help but wonder whether we have reduced Jesus' words to mean: ‘tolerate your enemies,’ or ‘ignore your enemies,’ even ‘don't do anything bad to your enemies.’
And yet Jesus’ words still stand: “…Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.” Luke 6: 27-28
